3D Mark for Android hits the Play Store, Benchmark away!

Futuremark have just pushed out 3DMark for Android devices on the Play Store. Their latest endeavor for bench-marking brings the ability to compare results across Windows and Android devices. The benchmark application requires Android 3.1+ and at least 1GB of Ram, oh and it will use around 294MB of storage. The tests available are Ice Storm and Ice Storm Extreme. So if you have a smartphone that meets the required specs, then why not download the free app(link below) and check out the results yourself. No word on the iOS and Windows RT versions, but they are still incoming.

NEW 3DMARK BENCHMARK TESTS

The Android edition of 3DMark includes two benchmarks, both based on OpenGL ES 2.0.

Ice Storm
Use Ice Storm to test the performance of your Android powered smartphone or tablet. Ice Storm includes two graphics tests designed to stress the graphical (GPU) performance of your device and a physics test to stress its processing (CPU) performance.

Ice Storm Extreme
Designed for the latest smartphones and tablets, Ice Storm Extreme raises the rendering resolution to 1080p and uses higher quality textures and post-processing effects. Ice Storm Extreme will soon be included in the Windows version of 3DMark too, allowing you to compare Android and Windows tablets directly.
