Dell announce Alienware and new G-Series Gaming Laptops with Intel 8th Gen Chips

Dell are right on the tail of the announcement from Intel bring their 8th generation chips to the mobile world of computing. Dell’s announcement include a refresh from their Alienware line-up, but also the launch of a new walle friendly gaming series dubbed G-Series.

Diving right into the new G-Series of gaming laptops from Dell. The laptops will come in three main flavours with the G3, G5 and G7 models. The G3 will offer a 15-inch or 17-inch display. The G5 is the middle of the sequence and the G7 is the flagship of the new series and will offer the best of the new brand.

Dell G3

The above image is for the G3 17-inch. The gaming device will offer 8th Generation Core-i7 CPU’s with 4-16GB’s of RAM, GTX 1050/1050 ti/1060 GPU’s. The display will be IPS and have a 1080p resolution on both the 15 and 17-inch versions. We have dual fans, space for 2 storage devices as well. The G3 is set to be the thinnest gaming laptop ever made. It will be avaialble in Black or Recon Blue as will the G3 17.

Dell G5

The G5 takes things up a notch and will include either an Intel 8th Generation 8300HQ or 8750HQ Processor with between 4-16GB’s of memory. It will ofer either a 1080p or UHD IPS display. Same line up of GTX cards as the G3 (1050, 1050 Ti, or 1060) The GTX 1060 include Max-Q design tech, and also pushed the power adaptor from 130 Watts to 180 Watts.

Dell G7

The flagship of the bunch is the Dell G7. This comes with a 15-inch IPS display with either 1080p or UHD resolution. Inside you can choose from the Core i5-8300HQ, Core i7-8750HQ, or Core i9-8950HQ to handle your processing needs. This includes the range of 4-16GB’s of memory with user expandable to 32GB’s

We have the same line up of GPU’s to choose from, GTX 1050, GTX 1050 Ti, or GTX 1060 with Max-Q technology.

Alienware

Dell’s more familiar gaming brand is also getting a few updates with the new Intel hardware. This will include a new Alienware 15 and Alienware 17 series laptops. Mostly nothing changes with the update in Alienware laptops other than the include of Intel’s new 8th Generation chips. This goes ranges from the Core-i5 all the way up to the new Core-i9 chip.

Wrap up

The Alienware 15 is already available for order with limited configurations. The G3 15/17 will start orders on April 26th with the G3 17 having limited configurations at first. The G5 15 and presumably the G7 will launch around May 3rd on Dell.ie with more retailers and configurations being made avaialble at a later date.
