HTC and Apple settle patent dispute with 10 year licensing deal

An unexpected outcome in the over two-year lawsuit between Apple and HTC has finally had a settlement that will see a 10 year licensing agreement between the two company’s. Apple back in 2010 filed a lawsuit against HTC originally containing over 20 patent infringements related to Apple’s iOS. Both CEO’s of HTC and Apple have released statements relating to the licensing agreement.

“HTC is pleased to have resolved its dispute with Apple, so HTC can focus on innovation instead of litigation,” said Peter Chou, CEO of HTC.

“We are glad to have reached a settlement with HTC,” said Tim Cook, CEO of Apple. “We will continue to stay laser focused on product innovation.
