LTE to arrive next year in Ireland with the spectrum auction finally completed


Comreg today have announced the details of the recent auction for the 800, 900, 1800MHz bands. The 800MHz recently becoming available after the analog service was switched off. Vodafone, Meteor, O2 and Three all purchased new spectrum at the auction. The new deal will allow for the push into LTE with O2 promising begin 4G rollout by mid 2013. Comreg have included a requirement by all networks to make the new service available to 70% of Ireland in the next three years. To read more info, check out the PDF from Comreg below.
