Review: HTC One S

Camera (Photos)

The camera on the HTC One S is a nice 8 Megapixel with auto focus and of course an led flash. The device can also record in full 1080p. Straight up lets take a look at the camera’s layout and settings.

The camera app has a similar layout to most camera apps and again has features seen before. Let’s take a look at the options it has.

The buttons for taken both photos and videos are always displays. So there is no need to switch between the two. If you wish to take a video just hit the record button and if you wish to take a picture then just hit photo button. This is fantastic and I wish to see this more and HTC are pros for introducing it. There is also the ability to take pictures while recording or playing back a recorded video, now they are the same resolution as the video but this is a nice feature to have.

The settings are pretty basic and the layout is for both the photos and video as there is no switching between the two. There is the image adjustments and this allows you to alter the exposure levels, contrast, saturation and sharpness. You can change the ISO level from 100, 200, 400 and 800. The camera has face detection, auto capture when a smile is detected. The camera app is easy to use and has a nice overall layout with some adjustments the user can make.

Camera (Video)

The camera has the ability to record in full 1080p and you can also refocus and zoom in during the recording. Let’s take a look at a quick video.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EegTOeRA2TM The video quality is again pretty impressive and while we have seen impressive before in terms of video recording quality. It’s nice to see it continue and HTC have done just that. I was able to focus pretty well on different things during the recording and the overall quality is extremely good. All the settings were left on default with the resolution set at 1080p. That is it for the camera, click over to the next page to continue.
