Review: Noctua NH-L12 low-profile cooler

It’s time for another review. This time it’s the Noctua NH-L12 Low profile heatsink cooler. This new heatsink from Noctua is designed for low yield builds that are designed for silence and small space in mind. The design allows for an overall height of 66mm when using just the 92mm fans. The cooler includes both an NF-F12(120mm) fan(Review here) and a NF-B9(92mm). Now lets take a look at the specs of each fan.

Noctua NF-F12 PWM

  • Max. Rotational Speed (+/- 10%) – 1500 RPM
  • Max. Rotational Speed with L.N.A. (+/- 10%) – 1200 RPM
  • Min. Rotational Speed (PWM) – 300 RPM
  • Max. Airflow – 93,4 m³/h
  • Max. Airflow with L.N.A. – 74,3 m³/h
  • Max. Acoustical Noise – 22,4 dB(A)
  • Max. Acoustical Noise with L.N.A. – 18,6 dB(A)
  • Input Power – 0,6 W
  • MTBF > 150.000 h

Noctua NF-B9 PWM

  • Max. Rotational Speed (+/- 10%) –
  • 1600 RPM
  • Max. Rotational Speed with L.N.A. (+/- 10%) – 1300 RPM
  • Min. Rotational Speed (PWM) – 300 RPM
  • Max. Airflow – 64,3 m³/h
  • Max. Airflow with L.N.A. – 52,6 m³/h
  • Max. Acoustical Noise – 17,6 dB(A)
  • Max. Acoustical Noise with L.N.A. – 13,1 dB(A)
  • Input Power –  0,96
  • WMTBF –  > 150.000 h

So that’s the fans that are supplied. Let’s now take a look a few pictures of the heatsink itself and see how the low-profile heatsink looks with and without the fans.

Isn’t it beautiful. Noctua retained there typical design and made the low profile heatsink carry with it, the end results is actually pretty nice. Check out the next page for some pictures of the heatsink we are testing and the contents.
