Samsung have announced an update to their Exynos 5 Octa chipset. The new chipset will continue to be based on ARM’s big.LITTLE architecture with the Cortex A15  clock speed jumping from 1.6GHz to 1.8GHz and the Cortex A7 jumping from 1.2GHz to 1.3GHz. This will see a 20-percent increase in CPU performance overall. The GPU will be the ARM Mali-T628 with a total of six cores. The RAM will dual channel and will be clocked at 933MHz with a memory bandwidth of 14.9GB/s.

Samsung are serious about offering the best performance available and we expect some devices to be using the new Exynos 5 in the future. Did someone say Galaxy Note 3?
