Toshiba announces new Satellite U and M range laptops, bringing Haswell and Nvidia GT 740m into the mix

Toshiba have announced their latest range of Satellite U and M models which will be sporting Intel’s 4th gen Haswell processors and Nvidia’s latest mobile graphics. The M50 and M50t will offer the Haswell processors and the option for Nvidia GT 740 and the M50D and M50Dt will be offering AMD’s latest generation APU’s and Radeon graphics. Both the M50t and M50Dt models will come with touchscreen capability as well. All laptops will offer the obvious Bluetooth 4.0, WiFi B/G/N, HDMI out, SD Card slot and 2 USB 3.0 slots with 1 USB 2.0.

On the U side of things we have the U50t which is a 15.6″ Ultrabook with ten-point touch display. This will also include Haswell and Intel’s HD 4400 graphics with up to 1TB of Storage. Dublin, 14th August 2013 – Toshiba today announces its latest range of laptops, including a new Ultrabook™ with the new Satellite U and M series. Ideal for anyone wanting a thin and feature-rich laptop at an affordable price, all models combine practicality and high performance in a beautifully sleek design that was designed for use at home or on the move.

The Satellite U50t is Toshiba’s first 39.6cm (15.6”) Ultrabook™ and comes equipped with a ten-point touchscreen for easy navigation through the Windows 8 interface. This high-performance yet affordable Ultrabook™ also has a vibrant colour display and long battery life for more comfortable viewing on the move.

The 39.6cm (15.6”) Satellite M50 and M50t offers the option of the latest, fastest NVIDIA® graphics for an improved entertainment experience. In addition, the M50t and M50Dt model comes with touchscreen capability, while the M50D and M50Dt versions feature AMD’s next-generation APU processors and AMD Radeon Graphics.

All new models are packed with a range of the latest technologies. The U50t features 4th-generation Intel® Core™ processors for Ultrabooks™ and Intel® HD Graphics 4400 that bring every image to life.

In addition, the Satellite M Series offers a choice of 4th generation Intel® Core™ processors with a choice of Intel® HD Graphics 4400 or NVIDIA® GeForce® GT 740M graphics with 2GB VRAM and NVIDIA® Optimus™ technology for a better entertainment experience. AMD’s next-generation APU processors for power efficiency and acceleration through most tasks are available on the M50D and M50Dt.

Toshiba’s new Satellite U and M series laptops include impressive audio-visual specifications. High quality stereo speakers with DTS® Studio Sound™ audio enhancement optimises sound quality for crystal-clear definition and rich, deep bass, while the HD LED display provides a brilliant viewing experience with colours that are more vibrant, with sharper detail and entertainment that’s more immersive.

Fully connected and ready to go

All models come with a host of full-size ports for convenient connectivity anywhere, so users have everything they need to sync, share and view. Even without a network connection, Intel® WiDi™ and Wi-Fi® certified Miracast™ technologies offer simple streaming between compatible devices, while rich 3D multimedia content can easily be viewed in high quality on 3D ready TVs, using the HDMI port with 3D TV support.

Additionally, each new Satellite laptop comes with a handy Bluetooth® 4.0 connection, full-size HDMI® port and SD card slot, plus an HD webcam with noise-cancelling stereo microphone. Of the three USB ports available, two are USB 3.0 for even faster file transfers between devices. With hard drive storage of up to 1TB, it’s easy to store and enjoy plenty of movies, games, photos and more for maximum entertainment.
